Smith fracture
or Smith's fracture n : a fracture of the lower portion of the radius with forward displacement of the lower fragment - compare COLLES' FRACTURE Smith, Robert William (1807-1873), British surgeon. Smith is best known for his description of generalized neurofibromatosis, which was included in his 1849 treatise on the pathology, diagnosis, and treatment of neuroma. He described the Smith fracture in 1847 in a treatise on fractures and dislocations.
