Ush·er's syndrome
also Ush*er syndrome n : an inherited disease that is characterized by congenital deafness or progressive hearing loss during childhood and by retinitis pigmentosa and that is inherited chiefly as an autosomal recessive trait Usher, Charles Howard (1865-1942), British ophthalmologist. Usher published his description of Usher's syndrome in a 1914 article reporting on some cases of inherited retinitis pigmentosa.
