Ro·ma·now·sky stain
or Ro*ma*now*sky's stain also Ro*ma*nov*sky stain or Ro*ma*nov*sky's stain n : a stain made from water-soluble eosin, methylene blue, and absolute methanol and used in parasitology Romanowsky, Dimitri Leonidovich (1861-1921), Russian physician. Romanowsky made important studies of the malaria parasite. In an 1891 monograph on the parasitology and treatment of malaria, he introduced the original eosin-methylene blue stain for blood smears and malaria parasites.
