adj : relating to or being an operation to correct hallux valgus by excision of the proximal part of the proximal phalanx of the big toe with resulting shortening of the toe < procedure> < arthroplasty> Keller, William Lorden (1874-1959), American surgeon. Keller was an army surgeon who developed a number of new surgical procedures. He devised operations for hallux valgus (1904), varicose veins (1905), chronic empyema (1922), recurrent dislocation of the shoulder (1925), and stricture of the rectum and anus (1933) caused by contracture of the muscles around their circumference.
