n :  an acute often fatal toxemia of wild and domestic animals that follows wound infection by an anaerobic toxin-producing bacterium of the genus Clostridium (C. septicum) and is characterized by anorexia, intoxication, fever, and soft fluid-filled swellings - compare BLACK DISEASE BLACKLEG BRAXY1   .
