femoral artery

n :  the chief artery of the thigh that lies in the anterior part of the thigh and is undivided until a point about two inches (5 centimeters) below the inguinal ligament where it divides into a large deep branch and a smaller superficial branch - see DEEP FEMORAL ARTERY  .
