n :  an antineoplastic agent C₅₂H₇₆O₂₄ produced by three bacteria of the genus Streptomyces (S. argillaceus, S. tanashiensis, and S. plicatus) and administered intravenously esp. in the treatment of malignant tumors of the testes or in the treatment of hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria associated with advanced neoplastic disease - called also mithramycin  .
