n :  a nerve that arises from the lumbar plexus by the association of branches from the dorsal parts of the ventral divisions of the second and third lumbar nerves and that supplies the anterior and lateral aspects of the thigh down to the knee - compare POSTERIOR FEMORAL CUTANEOUS NERVE  .
