n : a genus of lipophilic typically nonpathogenic yeastlike imperfect fungi including one (M. furfur syn. Pityrosporum oribiculare) that causes tinea versicolor and another (M. ovalis syn. Pityrosporum ovale) that is associated with seborrheic dermatitis .
