Lippes loop

n :  an S-shaped plastic intrauterine device
 
Lippes, Jack (b 1924),
American obstetrician and gynecologist. A specialist in reproduction physiology, Lippes did research in such areas as the physiology of human oviductal fluid, immunology of the genital tract, and intrauterine contraception. He invented the Lippes loop and first introduced it around 1962.
