colic artery

n :  any of three arteries that branch from the mesenteric arteries and supply the large intestine  a  :  a branch of the superior mesenteric artery serving the ascending colon - called also colica dextra , right colic artery   b  :  a branch of the superior mesenteric artery serving the transverse colon - called also colica media , middle colic artery   c  :  a branch of the inferior mesenteric artery supplying the descending colon - called also colica sinistra , left colic artery  .
