cerebellar peduncle

n :  any of three large bands of nerve fibers that join each hemisphere of the cerebellum with the parts of the brain below and in front  a  :  one connecting the cerebellum with the midbrain - called also brachium conjunctivum , pedunculus cerebellaris superior , superior cerebellar peduncle   b  :  one connecting the cerebellum with the pons - called also brachium pontis , middle cerebellar peduncle , middle peduncle , pedunculus cerebellaris medius   c  :  one that connects the cerebellum with the medulla oblongata and the spinal cord - called also inferior cerebellar peduncle , pedunculus cerebellaris inferior , restiform body  .
