ornithine transcarbamylase
n : an enzyme of hepatic mitochondria that catalyzes the conversion of ornithine to citrulline as part of urea formation and that when deficient in the body results in hyperammonemia, vomiting, coma, seizures, and sometimes death - called also ornithine carbamoyltransferase , ornithine transcarbamoylase .
