n : EPOOPHORON Ro•sen•mül•ler, Johann Christian (1771-1820), German anatomist. Rosenmüller served as professor of anatomy and surgery at a German university. He is remembered for classic descriptions of three anatomical features: the palpebral part of the lacrimal gland (1797), the epoophoron (1802), and the lateral recess of the pharynx situated dorsal and cranial to the eustachian tube (1808). In 1808 he published a handbook of anatomy.
