Mar·ek's disease

n :  a highly contagious viral disease of poultry that is characterized esp. by proliferation of lymphoid cells and is caused by a herpesvirus
 
Marek, Jozsef (1867-1952),
Hungarian veterinarian. Marek first described the cancerous disease known as Marek's disease in 1907.
