Gil·christ's disease
n : NORTH AMERICAN BLASTOMYCOSIS Gilchrist, Thomas Caspar (1862-1927), American dermatologist. A clinical professor of dermatology, Gilchrist wrote a classic description of generalized blastomycosis in 1896. His other areas of study included the etiology of acne vulgaris, vaccine therapy as applied to cutaneous disease, a form of sarcoma affecting the skin, atrophy of the fatty layer of skin, and hyaline degeneration of cutaneous blood vessels and sweat glands.
