occipital crest
n : either of the two ridges on the occipital bone connecting the occipital protuberances and foramen magnum: a : a median ridge on the outer surface of the occipital bone that with the external occipital protuberance gives attachment to the ligamentum nuchae - called also external occipital crest , median nuchal line b : a median ridge similarly situated on the inner surface of the occipital bone that bifurcates near the foramen magnum to give attachment to the falx cerebelli - called also internal occipital crest .
