n :  a contagious venereal disease that is caused by various strains of a bacterium of the genus Chlamydia(C. trachomatis) and is marked by painful swelling and inflammation of the lymph nodes esp. in the region of the groin - called also lymphogranuloma inguinale , lymphopathia venereum  .
