Drink·er respirator
n : IRON LUNG Drinker, Philip (1894-1972), American industrial hygienist. Drinker introduced the Drinker respirator, or iron lung, in 1929. He also invented a small chamber for maintaining respiration in newborn babies. During his career he studied industrial hygiene, the control of air pollution, and toxicology.
