Schil·der's disease

n :  a demyelinating disease of the central nervous system that is inherited as an X-linked recessive trait affecting males in childhood and that is characterized by progressive blindness, deafness, tonic spasms, and mental deterioration - called also adrenoleukodystrophy , ncephalitis periaxialis diffusa , childer's encephalitis 
 
Schilder, Paul Ferdinand (1886-1940),
Austrian psychiatrist. In 1912 Schilder described encephalitis periaxialis diffusa, which is now commonly known as Schilder's disease.
