aspartate aminotransferase

n :  an enzyme promoting transfer of an amino group from glutamic acid to oxaloacetic acid and which when present in abnormally high levels in the blood is a diagnostic indication of myocardial infarction or liver disease - called also aspartate transaminase , glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase  .
