Stein·mann pin
n : a stainless steel spike used for the internal fixation of fractures of long bones Steinmann, Fritz (1872-1932), Swiss surgeon. Steinmann invented for insertion into the distal end of a fractured bone a surgical pin that provided a hold for skeletal traction. He published a report of his invention in 1907.
