Fan·co·ni's anemia
n : a rare disease inherited as an autosomal recessive trait that is characterized by progressive hypoplastic pancytopenia, skeletal anomalies (as short stature), and a predisposition to cancer and esp. leukemia Fanconi, Guido (b 1892), Swiss pediatrician. Fanconi first described the congenital disease now known as Fanconi's anemia in 1927. He first reported on the renal dysfunction now known as Fanconi syndrome in 1931.
