n :  a solution of the acetate of aluminum used as an antiseptic and astringent
 
Bu•row, Karl August von (1809-1874),
German military surgeon and anatomist. In 1857 Burow introduced his solution which was originally compounded from alum and lead acetate. He is also known for his description of certain veins of the kidneys in 1835.
